Learn moreThe 21st Century Cures Act is ushering in the next generation of healthcare information interoperability. Participants in healthcare information exchanges need to assure that privacy, security, technical and operational standards are upheld as outlined in the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).
One way that organizations can validate they are meeting and maintaining the right level of security and operational standards is to pursue industry certification of their solutions.
The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) offers healthcare certification programs and has released its Trusted Network Accreditation Program (TNAP). “TNAP, in partnership with HITRUST, seeks to promote interoperability by assuring the security and privacy of trusted networks and the use of enabling technologies in the healthcare ecosystem. The program provides third-party review with accreditation for Trusted Exchange participants, rights management, as well as compliance with new TEFCA regulatory requirements and in partnership with HITRUST CSF® addressing existing security and privacy compliance mandates.”
EHNAC is a non-profit, self-governing standards development organization established to develop standard criteria and accredit organizations that electronically exchange healthcare data. The Commission is an authorized HITRUST CSF Assessor, making it the only organization with the ability to provide both EHNAC accreditation and HITRUST CSF certification. For more information on EHNAC and its certification programs, go to www.ehnac.org
