El Grupo Quirónsalud, la red de hospitales más grandes de España, e IQVIA™, proveedor líder a nivel global de análisis avanzados, soluciones tecnológicas y servicios de investigación para la industria de las ciencias de la vida, llegaron a un acuerdo de colaboración este verano y lanzaron el segundo Prime Site de IQVIA en España.

Para IQVIA, el concepto Prime Site supone un reconocimiento a un centro o red hospitalaria por su excelencia en el cuidado de la salud, desarrollo de ensayos clínicos y calidad de datos. Este reconocimiento asegura a las empresas farmacéuticas y biotecnológicas asociadas con IQVIA, que sus ensayos clínicos se llevarán a cabo en los mejores centros de investigación, con profesionales reconocidos y con infraestructuras centradas en la innovación, investigación y desarrollo en el cuidado del paciente.

IQVIA asignará un Prime Site Director encargado de supervisar la relación de la asociación, hacer seguimiento de las entregas de proyectos de investigación de IQVIA y de desarrollar iniciativas estratégicas innovadoras. Quirónsalud e IQVIA colaborarán en programas de investigación para optimizar procesos, reducir plazos en el comienzo de investigaciones clínicas, alinear procedimientos y apoyar un aumento significativo en ensayos clínicos complejos y estudios de Real World Evidence en España y Europa.

Quirónsalud destaca la importancia de dicho acuerdo, ya que la investigación y la innovación son claves para prestar una atención sanitaria de excelencia y es por eso, que desde el comienzo apuesta por estar a la vanguardia de los avances médicos. Una prueba de esto es el aumento progresivo de la actividad científica en los hospitales del grupo que, en 2019, participaron en 940 ensayos clínicos, un 16% más que en el año anterior. De los 279 ensayos clínicos iniciados el año pasado, la mitad estaban en fases iniciales (I y II). Durante 2019, más de 330 estudios observaciones y 450 proyectos de investigación fueron desarrollados. Estas actividades de investigación han permitido registrar 10 patentes en el último año.
