SEARCH JOBSIl mercato dei farmaci biologici nei principali paesi europei ha registrato un tasso di crescita medio superiore al 10% a valori negli ultimi 5 anni.
In tutte le aree terapeutiche in cui sono presenti, i biosimilari, negli anni, hanno garantito l'accesso al trattamento a un numero sempre più ampio di pazienti ed un risparmio significativo per il Sistema Sanitario Nazionale.
Nonostante il continuo ampliamento del mercato di riferimento, il tasso di crescita del mercato dei biosimilari ha iniziato a registrare un rallentamento rispetto agli anni precedenti.
Ad oggi, infatti, circa il 75% dei farmaci biologici con brevetto in scadenza entro il 2032 non ha concorrenti in cantiere e questo comporterà il cosiddetto "vuoto biosimilare" che nei prossimi 10 anni vedrà per i sistemi sanitari dell'UE mancati risparmi stimati per almeno 15 miliardi di euro.
Questi temi sono affrontati nella tavola rotonda organizzata da IQVIA e EGUALIA dal titolo " Valore dei biosimilari, sostenibilità del sistema e prospettive future".
Un Panel di esperti ha portato al tavolo le prospettive della politica, delle istituzioni sanitarie e dell'Industria al fine di identificare le criticità e le possibili aree di miglioramento.
