Investing in our people

Our approximately 88,000 employees are the driving force of our business, bringing their skills, experience and to work every day. We’re proud to shine a spotlight on our teams and employees who have a passion to advance healthcare. Staying connected to our people is critical to our success - to understand their needs, communicate our expectations, and maintain a sense of community and shared values.

Our strength as an organization lies in our most valuable asset — our people.

BELONGING AT IQVIA

Representation is integral to our mission of advancing human health

We strive to create an environment where different perspectives and experiences spark innovation to enable greater impact and where people of all backgrounds collaborate to bring out the best in each other – united by driving healthcare forward.

Advancing public health

Our mission to accelerate innovation for a healthier world guides everything we do — the deep sense of responsibility we feel towards supporting better outcomes for patients is the foundation of our values and culture. Collaboration is central to these efforts, and together with our partners, we work to improve access to and delivery of healthcare and, ultimately, drive better health outcomes.

Global Public Health

Global Public Health is at a critical inflection point, where opportunities and possibilities are greater than ever before. We have made great progress over the last decade to advance human health, but these advances still do not consistently reach the people who need them most and complex issues must be addressed.

We work to bring innovative solutions and connected intelligence to the people who need it most.

Case studies

Transforming patient care

We’re able to impact and better patient outcomes across the continuum of care - from prevention, earlier diagnosis, and timely intervention, to access to medicines, care optimization, and development of new treatments and modalities. Below are two examples of our commitment in action.
Response to Marburg virus disease outbreak
Established presence in Africa to rapidly respond to a Marburg virus disease outbreak. When the Ministry of Health of Rwanda declared an outbreak of Marburg virus disease (MVD) in Rwanda in September 2024, IQVIA was able to support the Rwandan government, CEPI, the SabinvVaccine Institute and other partners to move rapidly to dose the first patient in a new clinical trial for MVD vaccine only ten days after the outbreak was declared. Learn more on page 58 in our report.
Fundação Oswaldo Cruz / ACESSA
IQVIA is supporting the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) and ACESSA — the Brazilian Association of the Self-Care Industry — to map viral respiratory disease outbreaks. Based on treatment data from hospitals, pharmacies, and other healthcare institutions across Brazil, we can track outbreaks and identify those with endemic or pandemic potential. This supports prediction and effective response to future public health challenges.

Reducing our environmental impact

Driven by our commitment to support public health, we have a responsibility to reduce our climate impact. This focuses on a set of priority projects and goals covering areas such as facilities, supply chain, and business travel.

IQVIA’s GHG emissions reduction goals

IQVIA is committed to achieving a 90% reduction in our scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 from a 2019 baseline, with Science-Based Targets (SBTs) validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We focus on the highest-emission areas of our value chain and therefore where we can make the greatest difference. For further information on our progress, see page 71 of IQVIA’s 2024 Sustainability Report.

Sustainability in our laboratories

Laboratories are resource intensive spaces, using more energy and water than our office facilities and producing higher volumes of waste. Because of this, we collaborate with the non-profit My Green Lab (MGL) to reduce the environmental impact of our labs.

MGL certification is considered the industry gold standard for sustainability best practice in laboratories, and it is recognized by the United Nations’ Race to Zero campaign as a key measure of progress towards a net zero future.

Through this collaboration, we now have all labs certified across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas, and more than 150 IQVIA employees trained as MGL ambassadors to initiate sustainability improvement projects across our labs.

2024 Sustainability Report

Our commitment to our sustainability efforts is unwavering because we believe creating a healthier world takes more than just healthcare.
