IQVIA realizó el primer World Review para Investigadores

El evento reunió a los principales investigadores del país, quienes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer las novedades y tendencias globales y locales en investigación clínica.

Por primera vez el evento anual de la compañía contó con una segunda parte orientada a médicos investigadores donde se expusieron las novedades y tendencias globales en investigación clínica y la actualidad en Argentina.

Mariel Peitiado, Clinical Operations Head de IQVIA y Gerardo Pascuali, Site and Patient Network Regional Head de IQVIA, le dieron la bienvenida a 15 médicos investigadores de distintas entidades médicas del país, quienes participaron de un interesante debate sobre la actualidad de los estudios clínicos en Argentina.

Al igual que ocurrió durante la mañana con el evento para la industria farmacéutica, Murray Aitken, vicepresidente y Director Ejecutivo del IQVIA Institute for Human Data Science™, fue el encargado de comenzar con las exposiciones, presentando las dinámicas y tendencias que afectan a la investigación clínica global. Consideró que los ensayos clínicos actuales presentan desafíos y nuevas complejidades, dado que los típicos retos a los que se enfrentaban se vuelven cada vez más agudos, a medida que la I&D se desplaza hacia enfermedades raras, incluido el cáncer.

Posteriormente Mariel y Gerardo, fueron los encargados de comenzar el debate, presentando la situación de los estudios clínicos en Argentina. “Si bien el nuevo proceso de aprobación regulatoria de los estudios clínicos se aceleró a partir de abril de 2017, estableciendo tiempos competitivos a nivel global para estudios de Fase II y Fase III ya que se redujeron significativamente, la participación de Argentina en estudios globales aún no se ha recuperado, y queda la asignatura pendiente de que las compañías internamente y los centros mejoren sus procesos teniendo en cuenta los nuevos tiempos de aprobación de ANMAT” aseguró Mariel.

Tanto los expositores como los invitados coincidieron que estamos ante una gran oportunidad para participar en los estudios de menor complejidad y resolver cuestiones como el enrolamiento de pacientes y la disponibilidad de datos a nivel país, que todavía no nos permiten superar a otros países de la región.

Los médicos participantes, tuvieron además la posibilidad de conocer las nuevas oportunidades que brinda la fusión de Quintiles con IMSHealth, gracias al porfolio de datos, registros de pacientes, investigadores y países en los que opera.
