IQVIA celebró su 16° edición del World Review Conference

Se celebró una nueva edición de la reunión anual que presenta las dinámicas y tendencias de la industria farmacéutica para el próximo año.

El martes 5 de mayo, el salón Puerto Salguero del Complejo Costa Salguero reunió a más de 400 personas, entre las que se destacaban presidentes, vicepresidentes y managers de los principales laboratorios farmacéuticos nacionales y multinacionales, compañías de productos para el cuidado de la salud, droguerías y asociaciones afines, quienes tuvieron la posibilidad de conocer las nuevas tendencias de la industria farmacéutica para los próximos años.

Esta fue la primera edición celebrada luego de que el 6 de noviembre de 2017, IMS Health y Quintiles se fusionaron adoptando IQVIA Solutions Argentina S.A como nueva razón social.

“Es un orgullo poder compartir los desafíos y oportunidades que esta transformación representa, ya que somos la primera compañía de servicios integrados para el cuidado de salud, que abarca desde la parte clínica, hasta la comercialización” aseguró Patricio Silva Young, General Manager de Argentina Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay y Uruguay.

Murray Aitken, vicepresidente y Director Ejecutivo del IQVIA Institute for Human Data Science™ fue el encargado de comenzar la serie de 3 presentaciones con las que contó el evento. Con un repaso por los principales números que marcaron el mercado farmacéutico global durante el 2017, proyectó grandes resultados para el futuro del mismo con implicancias hasta 2022 y un gran protagonismo del mercado de biosimilares.

Los mecanismos de priorización y racionalización de gastos en salud, fue el tema que abordó Roberto Bitton, Director Médico del área de Oncología para Estados Unidos, Canadá y América Latina de IQVIA, quien destacó la necesidad de introducir evaluaciones económicas de tecnologías sanitarias para hacer frente al gasto en salud, que continúa creciendo en la mayoría de los países.

Para finalizar, Juan Manuel Santa María, Director de Tecnología y Servicios para América Latina Sur, Andes y Norte, inició su presentación sobre Dinámicas y Perspectivas del Mercado Farmacéutico regional y argentino, con un interesante análisis del perfil de demanda de servicios de salud en la región y como ésta se ha visto impulsada por las áreas terapéuticas con mayor grado de innovación, como Onclogogía y Inmmunología entre otras.

Asimismo, y siguiendo un poco la proyección de Murray, quien anticipaba un gran protagonismo de los biosimilares para los próximos años, Santa María presentó una encuesta realizada a médicos de la región, sobre su comodidad para prescribir biosimilares, en donde Argentina se posiciona con una mejor percepción general de los mismos en cuanto a su eficacia, seguridad y acceso, respecto a otros países de la región.

IQVIA World Review Conference es el evento anual que realiza la empresa para todo el mercado farmacéutico con ediciones que durante mayo y junio se desarrollaron en México, Colombia, Brasil y Argentina.
