Investing in our people

Our approximately 87,000 employees are the driving force of our business, bringing their skills, experience and to work every day. We’re proud to shine a spotlight on our teams and employees who have a passion to advance healthcare. Staying connected to our people is critical to our success - to understand their needs, communicate our expectations, and maintain a sense of community and shared values.

Our strength as an organization lies in our most valuable asset — our people.

Diversity and Inclusion at IQVIA

Diversity is integral to our mission of advancing human health

We strive to create an environment where diversity of thought sparks innovation to enable greater impact and where people of all backgrounds and perspectives collaborate to bring out the best in each other — united by driving healthcare forward.

Advancing public health

Our mission to accelerate innovation for a healthier world guides everything we do — the deep sense of responsibility we feel towards supporting better outcomes for patients is the foundation of our values and culture. Collaboration is central to these efforts, and together with our partners, we work to improve access to and delivery of healthcare and, ultimately, drive better health outcomes.

Global Public Health

Global Public Health is at a critical inflection point, where opportunities and possibilities are greater than ever before. We have made great progress over the last decade to advance human health, but these advances still do not consistently reach the people who need them most and complex issues must be addressed.

We work to bring innovative solutions and connected intelligence to the people who need it most.

Case studies

Transforming patient care

We’re able to impact and better patient outcomes across the continuum of care - from prevention, earlier diagnosis, and timely intervention, to access to medicines, care optimization, and development of new treatments and modalities. Below are two examples of our commitment in action.
RSV Vaccine
Leveraged our unique capabilities to enroll patients from traditionally underserved populations into a trial for an RSV vaccine, enrolling 1.7 times the number of Black participants and 1.6 times the number of Hispanic participants than the customer originally planned. Learn more on page 56 in our report.
Lung Cancer
Partnered with the UK’s National Health Service to improve the survival rates of lung cancer patients, materially improving the speed to diagnosis by reducing patient review times, reducing PET-CT scanning wait times, and bettering sample collection and delivery to ensure that 80% of samples taken reach the lab on the same day. Driving environmental change

Driven by our commitment to support public health, we have a responsibility to reduce our climate impact. This focuses on a set of priority projects and goals covering areas such as facilities, supply chain, and business travel.

IQVIA GHG emissions reduction targets validated

In October 2023, the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated our GHG emissions reduction targets. This was a pivotal step in developing IQVIA's Net Zero Roadmap — our long- term emissions reduction plan to guide us towards net zero by 2050. Our approach is aligned with SBTi guidance, which is currently recognized as the global gold standard for corporate emissions reduction targets.

Sustainability in our laboratories

Laboratories are resource intensive spaces, using more energy and water than our office facilities and producing higher volumes of waste. Because of this, we collaborate with the non-profit My Green Lab (MGL) to reduce the environmental impact of our labs.

MGL certification is considered the industry gold standard for sustainability best practice in laboratories, and it is recognized by the United Nations’ Race to Zero campaign as a key measure of progress towards a net zero future.

Through this collaboration, we now have all labs certified across the UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas, and more than 150 IQVIA employees trained as MGL ambassadors to initiate sustainability improvement projects across our labs.

2023 ESG Report

Our commitment to our ESG efforts is unwavering because we believe creating a healthier world takes more than just healthcare.
