Driving growth and innovation: IQVIA’s collaboration with Orion Pharma

For over 100 years, Orion Pharma has been a trusted name in the pharmaceutical industry, delivering innovative therapies while ensuring the affordability and accessibility of essential medicines. As a Finnish company with a strong Nordic heritage, Orion Pharma takes pride in being a reliable and solid partner in the healthcare sector.
When Orion Pharma Benelux embarked on a significant expansion project, they turned to IQVIA to provide the expertise and support needed to navigate this growth efficiently. Stephan Van Nieuwenhove, Country Manager of Orion Pharma Benelux and Head of Sales for Benelux, Austria, and Switzerland, was looking for a strategic partner that could deliver comprehensive solutions from beginning to end in order to simplify the process and run the project with one partner.
A Trusted Partnership for Business Expansion
Having collaborated with Orion Pharma on smaller projects in the past, they pictured IQVIA as well positioned to support them in this next phase of their journey. With Orion Pharma’s rapid growth, they required a partner who could provide a full spectrum of services, from data insights to recruitment and sales team support. Our ability to integrate these services made us the ideal choice. “I was considering the best partner to work with, as we needed a range of services,” says Van Nieuwenhove. “It made sense to collaborate with a single company that could deliver all these services efficiently. That’s why we chose IQVIA.”
Scaling Up with IQVIA’s Expertise
One of the key challenges Orion Pharma faced was the onboarding of 14 new sales representatives—a substantial undertaking for their organization. Managing recruitment, onboarding, and payroll simultaneously required extensive resources, and they needed a trusted partner to handle these critical elements seamlessly.
“Our team was not staffed to handle this massive onboarding alone,” Van Nieuwenhove explains. “That’s why we looked for a partner who could provide end-to-end support, from recruitment to onboarding to payroll. IQVIA provided a dedicated team to ensure the smooth execution of this project.”
Beyond staffing solutions, Orion Pharma also needed data-driven insights to refine their sales strategy. By working with us, they gained a clear view of their targeting and capacity requirements, ensuring that their expansion was both strategic and sustainable.
